GUM
DISEASE Linked to DEADLY DISEASES
Newspapers, magazines, and
research papers are reporting on the numerous new studies linking gum
disease to: heart attacks, strokes, complications of diabetes, weakened
immune systems, lung infections, and pre-mature, low-birth weight babies.
The relationship starts with
common bacteria, s. sanguis. These gum disease bacteria can
penetrate inflamed or traumatized gums, enter the blood stream, and create
havoc with the rest of the body. The resulting low-level of bacteria
and its poisons in our blood cause an elevated White Blood Cell count,
clumping of our blood platelets, and changes in the cell walls of our
arteries and veins.
Smoking, stress, and poor oral
hygiene will increase the amount of bacteria invading the rest of the body
and negatively alter the response of the body to the increase in bacteria
and their poisons.
The close connection between
your teeth and gums and your overall physical health is again being
confirmed. Patients with good dental health can live longer and
healthier.

NEW
CONCEPTS IN GUM TREATMENTS
Let's begin by laying the foundation for
the new principles in Preventive Periodontal (Gum) Diagnosis and
Treatments:
1. Periodontal diseases are
host-regulated bacterial infections. This is, they depend on
presence of specific bacteria and how strong your immune system is to
fight them.
2. Proof of disease includes:
test results positive for the bad bacteria, loss of bone around the teeth
greater than 3mm., and other indicators of gum tissue breakdown.
3. Periodontal disease can both start
systemic disease and be a secondary complication of systemic diseases.
4. The goal of conservative,
non-surgical gum therapy is eradication of bad bacteria, healing of
tissues, and strengthening the body's own defense system.

DENTISTRY'S
BEST KEPT SECRET
For decades, dentist from all over the
world have told you that fluoride is a safe, effective way of fighting
cavities, but this is not the truth. The truth is fluoride is toxic,
never has been proven safe and is not as effective as they lead you to
believe.
Fluorine, because of its small size and
because it is one of the most electronegative elements on earth, is
extremely reactive. Fluoride is more toxic than lead and slightly
less toxic than arsenic.
The National Federation of Federal
Employees, local 2050, union of the EPA in Washington, D.C. states:
"Our union members review of the literature over the past 11 years
has lead us to conclude that a casual link exists between fluoride
exposure and cancer, increased hip fracture, and damage to the central
nervous system".
In fact, fluoride has been linked to
increases in fluorosis of teeth and bones, cancers, genetic damage, bone
pathology, brain, artery, and kidney damage and lower IQs in children.
The U.S. Center for Disease Control and the
British Ministry of Health admit that no laboratory experiment has ever
shown that 1ppm fluoride in the drinking water is effective in reducing
tooth decay. They also admit that there are no double-blind
epidemiological studies on humans showing that fluoridation reduces tooth
decay.
Three recent large-scale studies show no
difference in decay rates of permanent teeth in fluoridated and
non-fluoridated areas.
My position on Fluoride/Fluoridation is one
of several opinions in this field, in which much research is still going
on and needed. For example, "over the years, and as recently as
1997, the (American Dental Association) ADA has continued to reaffirm its
position of support for water fluoridation", saying
"fluoridation is the single most effective public health measure to
protect tooth decay and to improve oral health over a lifetime."

FLUORIDE
FACTS
1. Fluoride is a violent protoplasmic
poison which accumulates, over a lifetime, in calcium-rich tissues of the
body.
2. Fluorides are sued commercially in
pesticides, aluminum smelting, etching metals and glass, aerosols
propellants and refrigerants.
3. In medicine, fluorides are used in
chemotherapy, psychiatric drugs and anesthesia.
4. Fluoridation commonly uses
hydrofluosilicic acid and sodium silicofluoride both toxic waste products
of phosphate fertilizer production.
5. Sodium fluoride commonly used in
prescription and general toothpastes is a hazardous waste product of
aluminum manufacturers.

UPDATE ON
MERCURY TOXICITY
Current Dental Research:
1.) As a dentist I have a duty to be informed about the toxic effects
of mercury
2.) Mercury is a systemic poison and can pose a health risk
3.) Use of mercury in dental amalgam results in systemic exposure to
mercury: the daily mercury intake
from 7 or more dental amalgams is 1 to 30 ug/day
4.) The daily mercury intake from dental amalgams in persons with 8 or
more amalgams can exceed the
acceptable daily intake set by the U.S. EPA for water
and air for the general population
5.) In certain people, amalgam can represent a significant portion of
their average daily exposure to
mercury
6.) Given these facts and that alternative materials are available, I feel
it would be bad practice to place
new amalgam fillings

on Mercury Toxicity," please call the office.

FREEDOM FROM
PAIN AND ANXIETY
New easy-to-use, safe, drug-free therapy is now
available
to treat anxiety, pain, depression, insomnia, headaches, stress and
muscle tension
The all-new Alpha-Stim SCS units are available in our office for your
own dental treatment visits and/or for your purchase to use at home.
The new Alpha-Stim units produce very low intensity electrical current
pulses with comfortable ear clips, probes or electrode pads to specific
areas of the body or to the brain's pain centers. The low current
pulses reestablish normal electrical flow by producing a waveform similar
to your body's own relaxed "Alpha State."
Result = Alpha-Stim units leave the user alert while inducing a relaxed
"Alpha State" safely and drug-free.
If you have any questions about this new easy, safe and drug-free
therapy please call the office.
